Every year, as part of AGBU’s youth programs and visits, around 500 Diasporan-Armenian youths, teachers, musicians, athletes, scientists and performing arts groups visit Armenia. In the past, the participants of AGBU’s Armenia-based youth programs have stayed in various hotels and residencies across the city. However, 2014 was a turning point, as summer youth programs were centralized in one location in Yerevan. A new center, made possible by benefactor Vahe Karapetian, offers young people the comfort of a residence and a wide range of services. AGBU’s Armenia-based youth programs aim to strengthen ties between participants through various projects and initiatives. The AGBU Vahe Karapetian Center accommodates over 100 visitors and functions as a dormitory as well as a venue for cultural and social events. It allows for exciting cross-cultural exchanges, creating a more unified network of diasporan peers. AGBU youth groups and students can avail of the new facilities, modern furniture and equipment, kitchen and laundry service, entertainment and sports facilities at the AGBU Vahe Karapetyan Center.
