The National Equestrian Federation of Armenia (FEA), under the presidency of Hayrapet Hayrapetian, and the Armenian General Benevolent Union (AGBU) Young Professionals (YP) Yerevan team organized a benevolent junior open championship at the Hovik Hayrapetian Equestrian Center on June 1st, the International Children’s Day. 12 riders from 6 clubs in the Republic took part in the competition (The Equestrian centre after H. Hayrapetyan, "Multi Group", "Sil", "Ara & Aytsemnik", "Legeon" and "Arzni").

The jury announced the names of the three winners after two rounds of competitions. The second and the third prizes went to Davit Khalatyan with his Cowboy horse representing H. Hayrapetian Equestrian Center, and Taron Petrosyan and his horse Mirazh from "Sil" club respectively. The winner of the competition was Georgi Ghazarian with his Ateni horse representing “Multi Group” club. All the winners received certificates and monetary prizes. Members of the AGBU Yerevan Scout movement and AGBU Young Professionals Yerevan team were present at the competition. In a brief interview, AGBU Yerevan Scout group leader Gevork Simonian said, “AGBU Yerevan Scout Movement has a history of three years and has realized a series of benevolent projects, but this is the first time we are doing it in cooperation with a sports federation. These kinds of benevolent initiatives are truly very important”.

The competition was followed by an open-air concert, as well as being broadcast live on H1 Public Television. All proceeds from the event will be directed toward the realization of AGBU YP’s future children’s projects.
