AGBU YP Yerevan group’s project for F. Nansen Orphanage children in Gyumri

On the 16th November 2008Tumanyan Puppet Theater of Yerevan hosted the exhibition-sale of the works of Gyumri F. Nansen Orphanage children. The project was organized by AGBU YP Yerevan team. The project consisted of two parts. In the beginning of November within the framework of this program AGBU YP Yerevan organized the trip of all 69 children of the orphanage to Yerevan. Then they visited the National Gallery of Armenia, walked in the newly-opened “Lovers’ Park” and spent an unforgettable evening in the circus. Upon their return, the children draw paintings based on their impressions and started preparations for the exhibition of these paintings. The funds raised during the exhibition will be used to equip a computer classroom for the orphanage. The aim of this project is to raise the intellectual level of the children of the orphanage and make their integration into the society much easier. Among the participants and invited guests were representatives of not only business and banking spheres but also many famous artists and singers. Especially for this event the children had prepared several singing and dancing performances, which helped to create a more informal and festive atmosphere. The exhibition was a success: the amount of money raised is 1.239.000 AMD. The future activities of AGBU YP Yerevan will be targeted at raising youth problems in the regions of Armenia and offering solutions for them.
