AGBU CONTINUES FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE TO SYRIAN-ARMENIAN UNIVERSITY STUDENTS CLOSE TO 1 MILLION US DOLLARS ALLOCATED TO COVER TUITION EXPENSES

Strongly believing in the power of education, AGBU with the cooperation of Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation and the Ministries of Diaspora and Education of Armenia continues the joint program of providing tuition assistance to Syrian-Armenians studying at Armenia’s higher educational institutions. 

The program was launched in 2013 providing tutuion assistance to 380 Syrian-Armenians eager to get university education. In 2014-2015 year – 420 students received such assistance and in 2015-2016 academic year the program will help 460 students, bringing the total allocation to nearly $1 Million and the number of students receiving aid to 1260. This initiative gives the Syrian-Armenians access to education in the universities of Armenia and ensures that Syrian-Armenian youth has a way to enhance its potential and make its contribution to the development of our homeland.
