A CHARITY CONCERT ENTITLED “ YEREVAN AND ALEPPO OF THE 70’S” TOOK PLACE IN YEREVAN (VIDEO MATERIAL)

“Yerevan and Aleppo of the 70’s” - a charity concert with the participation of prominent Armenian musicians from Armenia and Syria took place on August 29 and 30 at Aram Khachaturian Concert Hall. The idea of organizing such an event came from Jean Vartan, a Syrian-Armenian musician, and Vasken Asatryan, Artistic Director of the «70's Yerevan» project. AUA FOR SYRIAN ARMENIANS CAMPAIGN RAISES OVER $12,000

During the month of July, the American University of Armenia (AUA) conducted the first phase of the AUA for Syrian Armenians campaign, raising a total of $12,292 which will go toward AUA Extension’s Learning for a Better Future assistance program for Syrian Armenians. The assistance program, launched in 2012, allows Syrian Armenian refugees to take up to two courses at AUA Extension free of charge. AGBU SCHOOL STUDENTS FROM AROUND THE WORLD VISIT ARMENIA

It has become a tradition for AGBU schools from around the world to send their graduating students to the Homeland every year. As part of this program, Armenia hosted three different AGBU school students in June-July, 2014; students and chaperons from AGBU Vatche and Tamar Manoukian School and AGBU Manoogian-Demirjian School of California, USA, as well as AGBU Marie Manoogian School of Buenos Aires, Argentina. AGBU-AYA ARIN DANCE ENSEMBLE PARTICIPATES IN MY ARMENIA 2ND PAN-ARMENIAN FESTIVAL

35 dance troupes from all over the world participated in the RA Diaspora Ministry’s My Armenia 2nd pan-Armenian Festival in July including the 48 members of Beirut’s AGBU-AYA Arin Dance Ensemble. Arin’s first performance as part of the festival took place on July 1st at the Alexander Spendiaryan National Academic Theatre of Opera and Ballet. The group performed Aram Khachaturyan’s Rose Girls.
