The first big budget Hollywood film on the Armenian Genocide, with a-list celebrities and a renowned, Academy Award-winning director will be widely released worldwide in April, including USA and Canada on April 21, Armenia and Russia on April 27.  Read more.

 
AGBU SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM SUPPORTS HUNDREDS OF STUDENTS WORLDWIDE
In the 2016-17 academic year, AGBU awarded nearly $800,000 in scholarships to students in 28 countries. The AGBU Scholarship Program has helped further the educational pursuits of tens of thousands of promising young Armenian students enrolled at some of the world’s top-ranked universities.

AGBU YPs OF GREATER NEW YORK TO RAISE $50,000 FOR SYRIAN ARMENIANS
AGBU YPs of Greater New York (YPGNY) held its 16th annual Silent Auction & Cocktail Party, which raised $50,000 for the AGBU Humanitarian Emergency Relief Fund for Syrian Armenians.

MoU SIGNED TO PROVIDE HEALTH CARE SUPPORT TO SYRIAN-ARMENIANS
With the new MoU, Syrian-Armenians receiving free of charge consultations at the AGBU Claudia Nazarian Medical Center will be referred to Izmirlian Medical Center for the follow up treatment offered at up to 45% discount.

ARMENIA OMBUDSMAN'S OFFICE TO TAKE ENGLISH CLASSES AT AUA WITH AGBU'S SUPPORT 
Twenty members of the Defender’s office have enhanced their English skills through enriching their general and professional vocabulary.  This allows them to explore and implement international best experience and ensure active cooperation with international organizations, involving in various international working groups. Read more here. 
11TH REPUBLICAN INTERSCHOOL CHESS TOURNAMENT
 3rd round of the AGBU-funded 11th Republican interschool chess tournament is underway. After a 2-day competition the winners from Yerevan are: Chekhov School #55 (1st place), Nikol Aghbalyan School #19 (2nd place) and Usum school (3rd place) teams. All the winners and trainers were given gift certificates from AGBU Armenia.

STITCHED WITH LOVE FOR ARTSAKH 
On International Women’s Day AGBU Artsakh delivered 35 packages of warm baby hats and blankets stitched with love by Betty Cherkezian and her friends from New Jersey to new moms at the maternity hospital in Stepanakert.

JAZZ MASTERS

The week of March 20th started with smooth sounds of jazz. New York - Yerevan Jazz Masters were in AGBU Armenia. Thank you, guys, for the amazing concert.

MUSIC DRIVETALKS
Music, innovation, taste arts and freedom: the main topics at MusicDriveTalks. On March 25, as part of the International MUSIC DRIVE Festival, AGBU Armenia hosted a talk with famous musicians, members of the Human Element band Matt GarrisonGary NovakScott Kinsey and Arto Tunçboyacıyan.

AGBU SUPPORTS OPUS3 INTERNATIONAL MUSIC FESTIVAL
OPUS3 international music festival, organized by the Association of Young Composers and Performers of Armenia and ARTCONCEPT international association, was held in different venues across Yerevan from February 28 to March 3. During that period AGBU Armenia hosted various events of the festival, including concerts, master classes and lectures. Organizers of the festival are young and talented, AGBU scholarship winning musicians.

AFS-2017: "LATIN EXPLOSION" CLOSES THE SERIES
Six films were screened at AGBU Armenia as part of the American Film Showcase 2017 organized by the US Embassy in Armenia and implemented by the Forum Theater every Thursday during the whole month of March. HBO's "Latin Explosion: A New America" closed the program on March 31.

"EXPOSED" BY SARKO MEENE

Women's month kicked off at AGBU Armenia with a joint event by AGBU and One Armenia to raise awareness and funds for The HALO Trust's Remove Landmines from Artsakh project. The evening also showcased the works of Sarko Meene accompanied by the smooth vibes by DJ Anais Paws.

AGBU AVC ANNOUNCES SPRING TERM 2017
The AGBU Armenian Virtual College is pleased to announce Spring Term 2017. The classes start on April 17, 2017. The courses offered are Eastern and Western Armenian Languages, Armenian History, Armenian Culture (Architecture and Music) and Chess.
