THE PROMISE OPENS WORLDWIDE IN APRIL The Promise, the first big budget, wide-release feature film on the Armenian Genocide, produced by the legendary Kirk Kerkorian's Survival Pictures and directed by Academy Award-winner Terry George opened worldwide in April.
AAA, AGBU, ANCA and other pan-Armenian organizations worldwide are revamping the grassroots outreach and encourage you to join the #KeepThePromise campaign.
All proceeds from the film will be donated to non-profit organizations, the first time for a film of this scale. Read more here.
AGBU LEBANON SHOWCASES THE IMPACT OF ARMENIANS ON ARCHITECTURE IN LEBANON AGBU Lebanon, in collaboration with the Embassy of Armenia in Lebanon and under the patronage of the Minister of Culture Ghattas Khoury, organized a lecture in French called "Armenian Architecture in Lebanon: a Question of Identity". AGBU AND UNICEF PARTNER TO STRENGTHEN ARMENIA'S CIVIL SOCIETY UNICEF country office in Armenia and AGBU Armenia signed a memorandum of understanding in Yerevan, whereby the two organizations joined hands to promote diaspora engagement for local community and civil society development in Armenia through the free web-based Together4Armenia.am platform. AGBU ENSURES THE MESSAGE OF THE PROMISE IS HEARD WORLDWIDE On April 23, AGBU Armenia, RA MoFA and Sharm Holding LLC hosted a closed screeningof The Promise in Yerevan. Eric Esrailian, co-producer of The Promise; AGBU; a joint coalition of Armenian organizations in Armenia and the diaspora; and world-renowned celebrities have joined forces in the global promotional campaign to make sure the film's message is heard all over the world.

EU FOR ARTSAKH CAMPAIGN: AGBU EUROPE DELEGATION IN ARTSAKH A delegation of AGBU Young Professionals and lobbyists headed by AGBU Europe Director Nicolas Tavitian visited Artsakh as part of AGBU Europe’s “EU for Artsakh” campaign that aims to end the forced isolation and for the European Union to engage with Artsakh, in line with its policy of “Engagement without Recognition” applied in Northern Cyprus, Palestine, Abkhazia and Transdnistria.

FLOWER GATHERING ORGANIZED BY AGBU YEREVAN SCOUTS AGBU Yerevan Scouts in collaboration with Foundation for the Preservation of Wildlife and Cultural Assets (FPWC) and with the participation of hundreds of volunteers organized this year's flower gathering event at the Armenian Genocide Memorial - Tsitsernakabert.
After undergoing several stages of recycling the symbols of memory will get a second life: the stems will turn into bio-fertilizers, and the petals will make handmade recycled paper.

CLASSIC FRENCH CINEMA:
2017 | SEASON 1 Beginning from April, Alliance Française d'Arménie, AFG Film Club and AGBU Armenia, in partnership with Institut Français, launched a program of Classic French Cinema. We cordially invite all movie lovers, fans and filmmakers, the first Thursday of every month, to the screenings of restored French classic movies in their original language and with English subtitles. Admission is free.
Jean Renoir's "Grand Illusion" opened Season 1 of the series on April 6.

JOHN HODIAN AND THE NAGHASH ENSEMBLE AT AGBU ARMENIA An evening of incredible sounds of Armenian folk songs combined with new classical music and the energy of rock and jazz, based on the texts by medieval Armenian poet and priest Mkrtich Naghash, by John Hodian and The Naghash Ensemble at AGBU Armenia.
CROSSROADS-2017 As part of the "Crossroads-2017" contemporary music festival organized by Quarter Tone in partnership with AGBU and Wallonia-Brussels International, on April 27, AGBU Armenia hosted Belgian-Armenian pianist Laurence Mekhitarian and flutist Aram Hovhannisyan from Switzerland. TATEV MNATSAKANYAN AGBU 111th anniversary celebratory events continued with the “Cultural Dialogue”, a global photo arts project that pays tribute to the life and art of Armenian artists in the diaspora. Tatev Mnatsakanyan’s “Armenia and Egypt” series, on view at AGBUExhibitions until June 4th, is a symbolic choice celebrating AGBU’s founders who established the organization in Cairo on April 15, 1906.

PAYING TRIBUTE TO THE MARTYRS OF THE ARMENIAN GENOCIDE It was the 24th of April. The human river was flowing towards the Genocide Memorial at Tsitsernakaberd. They were pilgrims who came to pay tribute to the martyrs of 1915. Read the feature story here.
