DISCOVER ARMENIA YOUTH TRIP

It is already the fifth year that with the initiative of AGBU Europe "Discover Armenia Youth Trip" is being organized. During this program a group of young Diasporan Armenians visits Armenia in order to participate in the benevolent projects, as well as to get acquainted with the Armenian history, culture and national values.

AGBU SCOUT CAMP IN ARMENIA

The first A.G.B.U.-A.Y.A. Boy scout group was formed in 1936 in Lebanon, Syria & Egypt chapters. Today AGBU Scout camp was launched in Armenia.

The final phase of the Second Republican Interschool Chess Tournament

The final phase of the Second Republican Interschool Chess Tournament took place on May 29, 2008 in the Tigran Petrossian Chess House in Yerevan. Sixteen teams from all regions of Armenia and Nagorno Karabakh took part in the finals. AGBU awarded chess encyclopedias to all the members of the three winning teams, and four computers to the four members of the Lori Team # 1 – the winner of the tournament.

AGBU PAYS TRIBUTE TO THE ARMENIAN GENOCIDE VICTIMS

As on every April 24, this year too AGBU Yerevan Office organized a march to the Tsitsernakabert Memorial to pay tribute to the victims of the Armenian Genocide of 1915. The group of about 60 people consisting of AGBU YP Yerevan Team, AGBU Scouts, AGBU and Holy See of St. Etchmiadzin Children’s Centers, Children of AGBU Alex-Marie Manoogian School of Southfield, Michigan, who are on a visit to Armenia these days, and other AGBU members ascended to the Tsitsernakabert Memorial and laid flowers and an AGBU wreath at the Genocide Memorial.

AGBU YP YEREVAN GROUP ORGANIZED TREE PLANTING

On March 30, 2008, AGBU Young Professionals Yerevan team organized tree-planting in the park near the Tsitsernakabert Memorial. About 50 youngsters participated in the event, and as a result, now there is a small park in Yerevan, which carries the name of AGBU YP Yerevan.
