AGBU YOUNG PROFESSIONALS OF YEREVAN VISIT ARMENIAN BONE MARROW DONOR REGISTRY, DONATE BLOOD

On February 23, members of the AGBU Young Professionals (YP) Yerevan team visited the Armenian Bone Marrow Donor Registry (ABMDR) and donated blood to the charity trust. ABMDR was founded in 1999 as an independent, non-governmental, non-profit organization. Its mission is to ensure that every ethnic Armenian struck with a life-threatening, blood-related illness can find hope for long-term survival through the identification of a genetically suitable bone marrow match. Dr. Sevak Avagyan, ABMDR Executive Director, presented the organization’s activities, goals and achievements. YPs toured the center and became better acquainted with the facilities, equipment and services offered. Possible areas for future cooperation between the AGBU Young Professionals of Yerevan and the Armenian Bone Marrow Donor Registry were also discussed during a separate meeting with Dr. Avagyan.
