In Armenia, Artsakh and the diaspora, May, the month of victories, was bursting with the events of the 25th anniversary of Shoushi’s liberation. One of the most grandiose of those events was the premiere of the video clip, featuring a live performance of Shoushi’s Anthem, which many Armenians around the globe were able to see broadcasted by the local TV channels and online.

The composer of Shoushi’s anthem is the renowned composer Avetis Berberyan, and the lyrics were written by famous poet and publicist Noushik Mikayelian, who is also an alumna of AGBU’s L.N.C.G. Armenian High School in Aleppo.

“The anthem was composed with great love and enthusiasm in 2012 at the request of Artsakh’s Ministry of Culture, which was performed for the first time five years ago in Shoushi, during the victory celebrations in May,” says Noushik.

Avetis Berberyan and Noushik Mikayelian consider this anthem an important symbol that should inspire our compatriots, thus contributing to liberated Shoushi’s progress and rise.
