PRESENTATION OF NAZIK ARMENAKYAN'S AMBITIOUS PHOTOGRAPHIC PROJECT "SURVIVORS"AT AGBU ARMENIA HQ

Armenian General Benevolent Union has the pleasure of inviting you to the presentation of Nazik Armenakyan's ambitious photographic project "Survivors". The author recently presented the project in New York. During the evening Nazik will tell the story behind this project. "Survivors" is a 152-page, bilingual (English-Armenian) hardcover book, published as part of the publications marking the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide. Those present at the evening will have the opportunity of puchasing the book at a special price. Book signing ceremony will follow the presentation. The evening with Nazik Armenakyan will take place at AGBU Armenia Hall (2/2 Melik-Adamyan Street, Yerevan) on April 27, 2016, at 19:00. Entrance is free.

VISIT OF THE YALEGALE ALUMNI RELATIONS DELEGATION TO ARMENIA

A delegation of three experts from YaleGALE (www.yalegale.org), the alumni initiative of Yale University that focuses on sharing best practices to strengthen higher education around the world, will visit Yerevan on April 13 -17, 2016. YaleGALE team will offer two days of programming. First day of the program will consist of two parts: 1) a general panel discussion open to institutions throughout Armenia (universities and NGOs); 2) Three break-out sessions tailored to the specific interests of AGBU, Luys, and AUA, who are the co-organizers of the event. The second day will be devoted to Universities-Government/Community relations.

DISTRIBUTION OF CLOTHES

In the frames of the AGBU Syrian-Armenian Relief Program distribution of clothes to Syrian-Armenians will take place at AGBU Vahe Karapetian Center (Qanaqer 1 str.) on March 30, at 16:00. The program will be realized by the "Syrian-Armenian relief Coordination Center" NGO. The clothes were donated to Syrian-Armenian Relief Program by the French-Armenian Gourdikyan family through AGBU France Chapter. The total price of the clothes is 155.000 EUR.

LECTURE BY NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC PHOTOGRAPHER JOHN STANMEYER

AGBU Armenia will host National Geographic Photographer, John Stanmeyer, who will present more than two-decade experience working and publishing through all the world’s leading publications. Expanding further into the medium of communication today, John will share deep insight into leveraging the greatest power we have to today - self publishing through Social Media. This lecture will give impetus for Armenians to become storytellers, offering opportunities for growth, expanding self reliance, giving hope to those who have so much to offer on both a global and local level. Simultaneous translation will be provided. The lecture will take place on March 18, at 18:00 PM. Entrance is free.

AGBU ARMENIA IS LAUNCHING A GREEN TALKS SERIES DEDICATED TO ENVIRONMENT PROTECTION

The first talk of the series will focus on Paper (deforestation, recycling and everything connected to it) and will be held on March 15th at 18:00 at AGBU Armenia Headquarters (2/2 Melik Adamyan Street). Guest speakers of the evening will be experts from Foundation for the Preservation of Wildlife and Cultural Assets (FPWC), who will share their expertese in recycling paper in Armenia and will show you how to actually produce paper at home.
