MASTER CLASS BY DOUG BLUSH

The U.S. Embassy in Armenia invites filmmakers to participate in a master class on “The Truth in the Light: Making documentary films that reveal the unknown, the new, and the forbidden.” The class will be conducted by world-renowned U.S. film expert and editor Doug Blush, and will take place at AGBU Yerevan, 2nd floor hall, on February 12, 2017, at 15:00. Under the auspices of the Embassy’s American Film Showcase 2017 program in Armenia, this program is implemented in partnership with FORUM Theater and the Armenian General Benevolent Union (AGBU). SCREENING OF AGHET FILM AT AGBU ARMENIA HQ

Armenian General Benevolent Union (AGBU) Armenia and AFG film club, with the support of the National Cinema Center of Armenia cordially invite you to the screening of "Aghet" (Calamity) film. The film focuses on seven criminals, who escape from prison to find their family members in the ruined town after the devastating 1988 earthquake. An elderly captain follows the criminals to find them and hand in a written order on a two-week vacation.
The event will take place on December 15, 19:30 at AGBU Armenia Hall (2/2 Melik-Adamyan).

MEETING WITH EVEREST CLIMBER ARA KHACHADOURIAN

On August 11, 2016, Armenian General Benevolent Union (AGBU) Armenia will host Ara Khatchadourian, Marseille based Armenian who ascended the world’s highest peak Everest in memory of the centennial of the Armenian Genocide.

՚After screening a short film on this epic ascent, Khatchadourian will share his climbing experience and his astonishing life story. Conquering the ambitious height of 8848m on May 23, 2016, Ara Khatchadourian raised the Armenian and the AGBU flags in recognition of the strong patriotic spirit, leadership and determination he developed while scouting at AGBU camp in Lebanon. Don't miss this unique opportunity to meet with the Everest climber Ara Khachadourian.
