AGBU ARMENIA PARTICIPATES IN THE FIRST YEREVAN HALF MARATHON

The first Yerevan international half marathon took place on October 4th 2015. “Yerevan Half-Marathon” initiative, Repat Armenia Fund and the Yerevan Municipality were the organizers of this superb race offering four different distances. 21km & 10 km for professional runners and 2 km & 1 km for beginners and kids. The separation of the routes allowed for the maximum number of participants, irrespective of age or ability.

The first Yerevan Half-Marathon was organized as part of the Erebuni-Yerevan celebrations. Its overall aim being to attract sport tourism and encourage a healthier lifestyle. Participants from various countries took part in the Half-Marathon.

The Armenian General Benevolent Union’s (AGBU) Yerevan team, including staff and Scouts took part in the Marathon in the central streets of Yerevan which eventually became a real festival not only for the participants themselves but for Yerevan’s general population.

Many individual runners, representatives of various companies, organizations, non-profits and foundations, educational institutions and firms, families and people with disabilities participated in this charity event.
