AGBU Armenian Representation hosted the 2nd Anniversary of the founding of the “Syrian-Armenian Relief Coordination Center” NGO on November 7th. Among the participants were RA Minister of Diaspora Hranoush Hakobyan and representatives of partnering organizations of the NGO. Welcoming those present, RA Diaspora Minister said, “First, I would like to congratulate you on the occasion of the second anniversary of the founding of this center and express my gratitude to you, since you are carrying out the most difficult task. Over the past two years, you have carried out your mission with honor, thanks to which, our work together has been so harmonious. The Center has succeeded in cooperating with other organizations in a fitting way. I believe, that the “Syrian-Armenian Relief Coordination Center” NGO sets the best example for building civil society. I would also like to express my deep gratitude to AGBU for extending a helping hand, supporting and giving strength to the Center from the very first day of its establishment, as well as to all the benefactors in Armenia and abroad for helping and encouraging our compatriots in their current misfortune. And finally, I would like to thank all the Syrian-Armenians for choosing to return to the Homeland instead of becoming refugees for the third time, who are loved and respected by their employers thanks to their diligence, devotion, sincerity and patriotism” The RA Diaspora Minister awarded certificates of appreciation to Lena Haladjian, Alexan Karadanaian, George Barseghian, Nora Pilibbosian, Tamar Gharagyozian, Kevork Shadoian and Sarkis Adamian for their work. In his speech, the representative of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees Christoph Bierwirth congratulated the NGO and its employees on two years of invaluable work and thanked them for their professionalism and devotion. AGBU Armenia Interim Director Hovig Eordekian also congratulated the employees of the Center and thanked them for their patriotic activities. Syrian-Armenian children, expressed their gratitude to the Hayastan All -Armenian Fund’s Brazil Chapter for the financial support received to meet the needs of 400 Syrian-Armenian school students by performed during the event.
