35 dance troupes from all over the world participated in the RA Diaspora Ministry’s My Armenia 2nd pan-Armenian Festival in July including the 48 members of Beirut’s AGBU-AYA Arin Dance Ensemble. Arin’s first performance as part of the festival took place on July 1st at the Alexander Spendiaryan National Academic Theatre of Opera and Ballet. The group performed Aram Khachaturyan’s Rose Girls. Arin’s Artistic Director Gayane Matsounian was awarded a letter of gratitude when the troupe performed at the Charles Aznavour Concert Hall of Armenia’s third largest city of Vanadzor on July 3rd. On July 4th, Arin were guest performers at the closing ceremony of Ari Tun, another program by the Diaspora Ministry, which took place in Tsaghkadzor and was attended by RA Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan and RA Diaspora Minister Hranush Hakobyan. Following the concert, on behalf of the AYA Central Board of Lebanon, Chairman of Arin’s board Ani Potrumian presented souvenirs to Hranush Hakobyan, as well as the organizing committees of My Armenia and Ari Tun programs. The final concert of the festival took place on July 5th in Oshakan. During their stay Arin members had the chance to take sightseeing trips to Haghartsin, Lake Sevan and Khor Virap. Gagik Ginosyan, an RA Meritorious Artist, who had taught the ensemble ethnic dances in Lebanon in 2013 joined the ensemble during their time in Armenia. Arin continues to amaze audiences and receive countless accolades. Its members return to Lebanon with wonderful memories of their time in Armenia.
