The 23rd session of the Hayastan All-Armenian Fund's Board of Trustees took place on May 26, at the Government Reception House, which was presided over by the President of the Board of Trustees and the President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan. Prior to discussing the items on the agenda, the participants congratulated the new ex officio board members – the President of the National Assembly of Armenia Galust Sahakyan, Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan, the Minister of Finance Gagik Khachatryan and the new representative of the Armenia Relief Society (ARS) Vigi Marashlyan, as well as Andranik Baghdasaryan, who has been appointed the affiliate chairperson of the US Western District. After adopting the agenda of the session and reviewing a film about the 2013 activities financed by the Fund, the Board of Trustees went on to discuss the items on the agenda as part of which, the Fund’s Executive Director Ara Vardanyan presented the 2013 annual report. At the session, the target issue for the Hayastan All-Armenian Fund’s “Marathon 2014” was discussed and adopted, which was reported by NKR President Bako Sahakyan. The previous day, the members of the Hayastan All-Armenian Fund’s Board of Trustees met with RA Diaspora Minister Hranoush Hakobyan, who presented the activities carried out by the RA Diaspora Ministry over the past five years and urged the representatives of the Fund’s local chapters to collaborate more efficiently and be involved in the projects carried out by the Ministry. Through a video, Chief of Staff of the RA Ministry of Diaspora Firdus Zakaryan, presented the initiatives taken by the Ministry towards solving the issues faced by Syrian-Armen-ians in Armenia. Following the video the Executive Director of Hayastan All-Armenian Fund made a speech. Members of the Board of Trustees of Hayastan All-Armenian Fund expressed their concerns, made their comments and suggestions. Summing up the meeting, Hranush Hakobyan suggested that the Fund’s main and local chapters become a part of the information field, created by the Ministry, to provide information on a regular basis and collaborate on implementing projects of pan-Armenian significance.
