10TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE GYUMRI BRANCH OF FINE ARTS ACADEMY MARKED

“This building has been reconstructed by Hayastan All-Armenian Fund, Armenian General Benevolent Union and the funds provided by the people during Loris Tjeknavorian’s 1991 pilgrimage to Gyumri”. This sentence is written on the plaque at the entrance of the building unofficially called Academy of Fine Arts, which houses the Gyumri branches of three state art institutions of Yerevan.

BENEVOLENT DONATION TO THE FRENCH UNIVERSITY

On December 4, an agreement was signed between UFAR and the Armenian General Benevolent Union (AGBU). RA Ambassador to France Serge Smessow, RA Education and Science Minister Levon Mkrtchian, AGBU Armenian Representation Director Ashot Ghazarian, other officials and guests were present at the ceremony of signing the agreement.

AGBU PROVIDES TECHNICAL EQUIPMENT TO ARMENIAN GENOCIDE MUSEUM-INSTITUTE

Armenian General Benevolent Union (AGBU) donated 10 units of technical equipment with a total price of 3 million 338 thousand AMD to the Armenian Genocide-Museum, with the help of which the museum employees will be able to digitize not only the known materials about the Armenian Genocide but also the information not fully examined and investigated yet.

Marie Manoogian school junior trip to Armenia

Students of the Buenos Aires Marie Manoogian School arrived in Armenia on July 20. During the next two weeks about 30 youngsters aged 15-18 will visit different cities and historical sights of Armenia, which will help them get closer acquainted with the Armenian history and culture.

Remains of Alex and Marie Manoogian Arrive in Holy Etchmiadzin

 

On Friday, July 13, the earthly remains of Alex Manoogian, National Hero of the Republic of Armenia, Life President of the Armenian General Benevolent Union and national benefactor of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, along with those of his wife, Marie Manoogian, arrived in the homeland via the Paris – Yerevan flight. They had previously been interred in Detroit, Michigan (U.S.A.).
